I did it
Completed (for the most part)and on time.
While I've completed my main tasks I still have small details to work out and solidifying my hanging method. I'm happy i was able to stay on top of things and finish this project with relative ease. There were bumps along the way but the final product is something I can be proud of. The pill capsules busted, my needles broke, i had a killer migraine and those things put me behind where i would have liked to be.
Over the coarse of this project i haven't had to change a lot of my original idea. The composition changed for the better though. I think this change will help the way its shown. I need to think more critically and realistically about what needs to be done to transport and hang them. If they're all going to hang ill need to experiment with the actual method. But that shouldn't take very much time to figure out.
I'm really proud of myself for being able to complete this. Its larger, more detailed, and more conceptual than anything I've done previously. I feel this is a very good representation of my skills thus far as a VPAA senior and it represents a high level of achievement for me because I've never attempted anything of this scale and complexity before. The fact i got it done without any mental breakdowns is strides for me.
During my final peer critique a lot of my feedback was positive and no suggestions were made to what i could change. They mainly said that i should finish and they trusted my vision and method in doing so. I did get a good suggestion from Jessie to have two separate artist statements. One main one to explain the concept as a whole and another to explain each skull individually.
Overall I'm super proud of what i was able to achieve within this piece and I'm most proud of the bison and coyote skull because they're just the most aesthetically pleasing to me.

I found Van Lieshout VI work with medicine and pill couples very interesting and I'm looking forward to incorporating some of their techniques into the finishing details of my work. Theyre 2D and 3D artist.

I found Jiwon Chong's invitation for Damien Hirst's art exhibition very interesting becuase its very reflective of both of their art. This has inspired me to look deeper into the common symbols i use.

Your artwork has really come together! I would say with presenting the artwork, I would present the skulls closer together. The skulls look very distant from one another, and the tiny beads that are connecting them I do not think that they are a large enough visual connection. Having the skulls closer together will make it look like one cohesive piece. I think once you solidify how this will be presented, the piece will look great.
You've done so well throughout the process of your project. I know you went through a lot of struggles when it came to stringing the beads, your strings breaking, and even like you said with your needles breaking. I liked that you pushed through and continues to work hard to complete your project as much as you could. Even though it is not complete, I think you're at point where it looks like it could be. Good work and continue to work hard to complete it to your liking.
